According to a recent news release, Idaho State Police are investigating an injury crash from approximately 6 a.m. on Wednesday, eastbound I-84 at milepost 173 near Twin Falls.

A 55-year-old man from Gooding drove eastbound on I-84 at milepost 173 in a snowplow, and a 66-year-old man from Meridian was going eastbound on I-84 in a 2024 International semi-truck.

The semi-truck failed to slow for the snowplow and hit the back of it. The snowplow's driver was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

The drivers were wearing seatbelts, and the eastbound right lane of I-84 was blocked for four hours.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police. This is the seventh snowplow hit statewide.

In a Facebook post, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) says there was a second snowplow strike from another semi-truck on I-84 on Wednesday, bringing the total to eight for the season.

No injuries were reported for the second crash, but this event left ITD without another snowplow for one to two weeks.
