Whether your kiddo just likes to splash or is a serious "fish" in the water, there's one thing you can do to ensure they are visible and easy to spot in case the worst of the worst happens!
While Safe Splash is here to help you and your child feel comfortable in the water, we know that accidents can happen. That's why your child's suit - fit and color - are super important. Leila O'Brien, CEO and Founder of SafeSplash SwimLabs, says that "fit and visibility are everything."
"When outfitting your child, make sure that the swimsuit fits properly. They should be comfortable - without constricting or being too loose - for your child," she said. "We find that kids who love their swimsuits want to be in them and they are less distracted and more excited for swim lessons - which translates to more comfort around and attention to the water."
And, while those blue and green bathing suits may be super cute, they also can be very hard to spot in the event that your child is struggling in the pool. We suggest you look for bright colors like red, orange and neon - all of which will keep your kids more visible. Not only can they be seen more clearly in the water, but you will also be able to spot them in a crowd when on land.
Another thing to consider is how suits look when underwater. The white and light blue bathing suits are going to be the hardest to see at the bottom of a pool. This post from our friends at Aquatic Safety Connection has e an incredible graphic that shows how each color looks against the pool water and then again under it.
We're looking forward to an awesome summer of safer swimming and splashing. If your child is still struggling or you just want to get them pool and beach-ready, give us a call, stop by or visit us online to Sign up for lessons today! Check out our full list of offerings here.
