PSG are reportedly looking to recruit Kylian Mbappe’s help and influence in the French club’s pursuit for Randal Kolo Muani, with Liverpool also keen on signing the France international.
According to L’Equipe, the Eintracht Frankfurt superstar is wanted by PSG ahead of the summer transfer window as the reigning Ligue 1 champions look to beat the likes of Liverpool to Kolo Muani, who has been one of the breakout stars of the European season so far.
The forward joined Frankfurt for free last summer and could now cost as much as €100m (£88m) based on his form this season, with Kolo Muani hitting double digits for both goals and assists already in the league. And as a result, interest is now high in the 24-year-old.
Born in the Bondy suburb of Paris, the same area that Mbappe grew up in, PSG are now looking to use the footballing superstar as leverage in their attempt to sign Kolo Muani in the summer, with the winger an ideal long-term replacement for the likes of Lionel Messi.
Indeed, with Kolo Muani a Parisian, many PSG supporters will be keen to see a local player return to the city, and for Liverpool, they could now struggle in their bid to sign the Bundesliga superstar, who could be tempted by the prospect of a homecoming if Mbappe gets behind the bid.
Whilst a strong argument can be made that Liverpool are in no need for another attacker, the Reds will feel gutted if Kolo Muani ends up signing for PSG, especially given how long the Anfield side have been linked with the Frankfurt star in recent months.
Kolo Muani should snub Liverpool to sign for PSG
Kolo Muani has taken European football by storm this season with his sensational debut year in Germany, and with some of the game’s biggest clubs now interested in signing the forward, the former FC Nantes star would be wise to snub Liverpool for a return to France with PSG.
With Mbappe potentially helping out in the recruitment process for Kolo Muani, that level of influence will be something Liverpool will be unable to match in the window, with the Reds also in a position where they need to be looking at players in other positions.
