NCIS star Mark Harmon has been married to Pam Dawber for more than three decades now, but it looks like he is not taking his relationship for granted in any way.

The 67-year-old actor admitted that he saw his marriage as an unusual one, pointing out that many Hollywood marriages tend to last for much shorter periods.

Harmon told Closer Weekly: “Pam and I have both made a living in this business, and still, there’s a part of that that’s just not natural.”

In general, relationships between actors seem to be prone to falling apart after some point, but that is not the case with these two.

Dawber added some comments of her own about the situation. She said: “I don’t think two people can work all the time in show business and stay married.”

She claimed that she found it impossible for two people to work together continuously in a field like show business and remain married for a significant time.

She also claimed that she was ready to put her career on pause when she was faced with the prospect of raising the couple’s children.

This is a different attitude from the one observers have seen in many other celebrities, as it is not rare for Hollywood to reveal stories of parental neglect.

There is a large number of people in this field who heavily prioritize their careers over everything else in their lives, including the people closest to them.

Harmon himself has had to adjust his life significantly to deal with the new situation, cutting down on his work on specific projects, and trying to pay as much attention to his family as he was able to. In the end, it looks like things have worked out nicely for the two.

He previously told the same publication: “It’s not even a choice. It’s who we are. We stay at home. A lot. I’m not a Twitter guy or a Facebook guy. Our sons aren’t into that, either.”

Despite the drama with Pauley Perrette, Harmon enjoys his status on the show: “It’s hard to walk? Through airports even in the most out-of-the-way places without being surrounded by people who love the show — and that’s nothing to complain about. I’ve done TV shows where I walk through airports apologizing.”
